Oliver Peoples Sunglasses
A heritage brand born in the heart of West Hollywood, on Sunset Boulevard, capturing the unique culture of Los Angeles and its elements of fashion, film, art and culture. Every hand-crafted frame stays true to the brands inspirations and vibe. Oliver Peoples is a lifestyle that believes in a balance between minimalism and fashion. Influences have been taken from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s, but all have one thing in common – luxury.
With the opening of the first boutique in 1987, and its name’s sake originating from invoices found in a vintage trunk signed by the mysterious “Oliver Peoples”, the founders knew their small, family run opticians was about to change. Their first collection was then inspired by the American-made frames found in this vintage trunk. They were classic and timeless styles, in an array of natural tortoise hues. They included only discreet branding to allow the style and craftmanship to speak for itself. Using state of the art machinery and the human touch, each frame with crafted with careful attention to details, luxury materials and referred back to the original drawing creating in the design studio in West Hollywood.
Over time, they have kept their sophisticated aesthetic but included geometric shapes, brighter acetates and collaborated with some of the most luxurious names, such as Brunello Cucinelli, Byredo and The Row. Not to mention the countless celebrities that follow the lifestyle set out by this one-of-a-kind brand. At the heart of the brand, Oliver Peoples wanted to design and created pieces so there was something to suit everyone, and this helped to inspire their logo. A full history of the brand can be read about in their book “California as we see it”, but for now, explore our range below.
